2. Please Describe why you are interested in serving on the KAFM board?

Community has always been important to me and I've been blessed to call the Western Slope home. I had the opportunity to meet Betty Ries at Board Connect a few weeks ago and really hit it off. I really loved the mission behind KAFM to be a channel for local voices. I think this would be a fantastic opportunity for me to gain experience serving on a board and to give back to the local community.

What Skills and Experience do you bring to the Board? Event Planning

Are there any other aspects of your background or experience you feel would be important for us to know?

I do have a few experiences not listed on my resume. I worked for Nextstar Media for a few months running the booth for morning TV, and gained experience operating the camera, soundboard, and cutting to commercial break. In addition, in college I was one of the editors for Pinyon Poetry, the CMU poetry magazine, that selected local and regional talent to be featured in the publication annually. I am a very creative person and I am deeply concerned for the future of independent media in the age of conglomeration. Serving on this board would be an excellent fit for my business skills, creative background, and personal convictions.

Please Describe why you are interested in serving on the KAFM board?

The station is a great community asset. Some of my friends and fellow musicians are DJs and I enjoy listening to their shows

What Skills and Experience do you bring to the Board? Non-Profit

Are there any other aspects of your background or experience you feel would be important for us to know?

I have extensive past experience as a non profit board member and executive director. I am now a lawyer and musician / songwriter with Wild Flight. I enjoyed immensely our performances at the Radio Room. Thank you for your consideration.
