Details: Joseph Weixelman, PhD, will discuss how the "Vanishing Anasazi" myth originated, the role the National Park Service played in the myth, how Pueblos responded to the myth and how the myth has led to erroneous claims today. Dr. Weixelman is a historian of the American West who has extensively researched and published topics relating to the intersection of indigenous people and national parks.
