Details: Robert Silbernagel, history columnist for the Daily Sentinel, will speak on ""The Loring Road, overcoming travel obstacles on the Colorado Plateau."" Learn how Colonel William Loring and his 300 soldiers built the first road for wheeled vehicles across eastern Utah and western Colorado in 1858. Bob will also speak of ancient attempts to create travel routes through this rugged region.
