Poetry Night at the Library is a monthly program at the Mesa County Library. Each month poets are invited to read their work based on a previous month’s challenge, or any other poem they’d like to read. Then, a new topic is discussed and a new challenge is issued. Topics range from a particular poet, to a school of poetry, to a new tool for your poetry toolbox such as a form or poetic device. No poetry experience is required – all are welcome! Poetry Night occurs the second Wednesday of every month from 6-7:45 p.m. at the Central Library, 443 N. 6th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501. Click here for the event website |

You'll be transported back in time on a road trip in the family wood-paneled yellow station wagon where J. Robert grew up singing classic country, rock, and Broadway hits along to the car radio and 8-tracks. This is the music that helped pave his way to starring in “Jersey Boys,” and “Next to Normal.” From Willie Nelson’s country twang to the smooth crooning sounds of Frank Sinatra and the pop favorites of Frankie Valli, “7,000 Miles to Broadway” is chock full of radio and Broadway hits!

several years, has gained him a devoted national following and a seat among the very best contemporary Americana songwriters. His confident, catchy-as-hell fourth studio album, "Sleeping Dogs" was released to rave reviews (Rolling Stone Country, the Boot, Twangville, among others) and spent a good chunk of 2018 on the Roots Rock and Americana radio charts (#5 and #44). The four-piece band that bears his name has become a favorite on the festival circuit, scoring spots at Old Settlers Music Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, Telluride Americana Music Festival, and Austin’s annual New Year's Eve blowout at Auditorium Shores.
