Why are you interested in serving on the Board?
I have concerns about the direction that KAFM appears to be heading, primarily in terms of financial health, membership/listenership, and volunteerism. I believe that a coordinated approach within the membership and management combined with an expanded educational/collaborative effort in the greater community are means for ensuring the health and longevity of KAFM. I would like to help with these efforts.
What Skills and Experience do you bring to the board?
Any other Aspects of your background/experience you think is important to know?
While I did not participate in the founding and startup of KAFM, I joined early as a programmer and volunteer. I have seen Board members and Executive Directors come and go, as well as experiencing the ebbs and flows of the organization. I have not participated directly in the management of the radio station to date, but I have been aware of operational changes and their effects over the years.
